New plant in Kaluga

Wittig laid a symbolic foundation stone for VW and Škoda Auto's new manufacturing plant in Kaluga, Russia on October 28, 2006. The plant construction agreements were signed this May in Moscow. – the car that put us over the threshold was a Škoda Roomster. The company reached the number of vehicles manufactured last year, 494,637, on November 20, 2006. We crossed the threshold of 500,000 vehicles manufactured within a single year on November 22, 2006, for the very first time in our history.
