Škoda cars are now assembled also in the Ukraine

Škoda's both latest models – the Roomster and the 2nd generation Fabia – are now assembled also in the Ukraine in the Eurocar plant in Solomonovo.

The Eurocar plant in Solomonovo, Ukraine has been assembling Škoda vehicles since 2002, its last year's production was nearly 19,000 vehicles. Growing continuously since its opening, the plant currently occupies 26,000 square meters and employs 700 people. Besides the two new models, Eurocar also assembles the Octavia, Octavia Tour and Superb lines.

The Roomster and the new Fabia are supposed to increase Škoda's market share in the dynamically growing Ukrainian market. Škoda's last-year market share was 5.3%.

“The assembly of the new Fabia and the Roomster in the Ukraine was launched very soon after launching the production in the parent plants in the Czech Republic. That shows that the quality of cooperation between the partners is excellent on both sides. Building further production and assembly capacities is an integral part of our worldwide expansion strategy,” said Horst Mühl, Škoda Auto BOD Member responsible for production and logistics.

Škoda vehicles are also assembled in Bosnia and Herzegovina, India and Kazakhstan, preparations for the launch of a new assembly operation in Russia are underway. A licence production of the Octavia in China was launched this year.
